RIDING

GUIDED RIDES - Technical single track, swoopy forest trails, rocky climbs, chilled out fire-roads, stunning views; the Lake District has it all. Having lived in this part of the world for 5 years, it's home territory. We will put together bespoke guided rides depending on the skills and experience of the group, sometimes using a second guide to give more options. We will offer challenge but will never leave anyone behind. The ethos is to get out, ride our bikes and enjoy the stunning trials the Lakes have to offer!

SKILLS SESSIONS - Want to master a drop-off, improve your technical ups, your technical downs... We'll use carefully selected sections of natural terrain to learn how to improve these skills, you might be surprised how often yoga helps here too!

TRAILSIDE MAINTENANCE - We offer workshops in trailside maintenance back at base. You may be a novice or pro, but never know when you may pick up a few more skills.

YOGA/PHYSIO

WELCOME YOGA - To get you into the swing of the weekend. Loosen up stiff limbs after your journey here. To take your mind away from work, home  allowing you to let-go and fully enjoy your weekend. 

YOGA FOR MOUNTAIN BIKERS - Specially designed for the needs of mountain bikers, both for injury prevention on the bike and to enhance your riding.

YIN/RESTORATIVE YOGA FOR RECOVERY - Holding posture for longer to allow a deeper stretch and promote recovery following a day in the saddle.

INJURY PREVENTION/REHAB WORKSHOP - Got a niggling injury or worry? Bring it to the workshop where we'll talk about common injuries, how to prevent them and have a problem shooting session to see how certain niggles may be alleviated.

GUIDED MEDITATION - At the end of the day you may like to have a little extra guided meditation. Depending on the interest of the group we can explore different techniques within meditation in both short and longer practices.

FOOD/accomodation

LOCATION - Located in a secluded spot near Grizedale forest in the Lakes. Our base will be the old Quakers Meeting house. With riding trials straight from the door and pleasant forest walks, it is ideally suited. 

DORM-STYLE ACCOMMODATION AND SHARED LIVING SPACE- A simple setting with simple accommodation. There are two large dorm rooms, one available for single sex on request. But it's cosy, with a huge table for meal times and a roaring log fire.

TECH DETOX - There is no wifi at the RookHowe! You might also struggle to get a phone signal. Good. Please warn friends and family you will be out of touch for a few days.

DELICIOUS VEGETARIAN MEALS- We scoured the lands until we found a chef who could cook fabulous vegetarian food, and knows how much cyclists can really eat! All meals are included in the escape and will be freshly prepared on site. All food is vegetarian, locally sourced where possible and absolutely delicious. If you do have any dietary requirements, please be sure to let us know.

FIRE PIT In the nearby woods we have the luxury of being able to have a fire. What better way to digest your evening meal and day of adventure than by sitting by a fire in the woods.

18:30-19:30 MINDFULNESS YIN YOGA (RESTORATIVE OPTIONS AVAILABLE)

19:30 DINNER/CAMPFIRE/GUIDED MEDITATION 

*Read a book, go for a walk, self-guided riding, nap, relax, snack...
